Description
Herveys is a cottage dating from the 18th century, which was extended by one bay in the 19th century. The front is cemented, while the sides are constructed from Isle of Wight stone rubble. It features a thatched roof with three chimney stacks; the central stack is made of red brick, and the end stacks are cemented. The cottage is one and a half storeys tall and has two windows in the upper section and three in the lower section. There are two eyebrow dormers with 19th-century casement windows, as well as similar casements below. The center of the original part of the cottage has a six-panelled door, with the top two panels being glazed, and is adorned with a 19th-century elaborate wooden gabled weather porch. The 19th-century extension includes a mid-19th-century triple window and a four-flush panelled door.
