Description
This is a pair of circa 1840 three-storey buildings on the north side of High Street, constructed of rubble with tooled ashlar dressings. They have a low slate roof with gutter eaves. Each building has two windows on the upper floors. The windows are recessed glazing sashes with flush keys to the lintel on the first floor on both sides; these windows are set within inner rectangular wooden bay windows with pilasters flanking the glazing bar sash lights and shallow moulded cornices. Number 29 retains a pilaster-framed double shop front with two-light mullioned windows and a recessed door, along with a four-panel house door to the right, all within the same frame. This section is topped by a frieze flanked by brackets and a projecting cornice. Number 27 has been modernised.
