Description

The Olde House, also known as Vansan, is an 18th-century house located on Newport Road in West Cowes. It features two parallel ranges and is constructed of ashlar stone. The building has two storeys and is topped with a roof now covered in asbestos tiles. There are five windows and two dormers, primarily consisting of sash windows with cambered heads and intact glazing bars. The central window is a two-light design. Each house has a one-storey extension made of stone with a slate roof; the extension for No. 10 has a penticed roof, while No. 12 has a hipped roof. A central paired weather-porch is adorned with decorative ironwork at the top.
