Description

Alma House and Rydon form an early 19th-century terrace located on Medina Road in West Cowes. The buildings are constructed of ashlar and comprise three storeys with a five-window front. They feature a parapet with stone coping and a cornice. A moulded cornice also sits above the first floor. A plinth runs along the base of the building. The sashes retain their original glazing bars. The first-floor windows are distinguished by moulded architrave surrounds with projecting cornices. Numbers 7 and 9 have paired doorcases featuring pilasters, a projecting cornice, low rectangular fanlights, and doors with three moulded panels. Number 11 has a simpler doorcase and early 19th-century shop windows.
