Description
The Wellington Tavern, built around 1840, is a three-storey building with a stucco front. The first and second floors are set back, featuring a small terrace above the public house entrance. It has a stepped frieze, a moulded cornice, and a parapet that conceals the slate roof. The second-floor window is a recessed sash with glazing bars, moulded surrounds, and a block sill. The first-floor window is full length and topped with a pediment supported by consoles. The public house front includes panelled pilasters that extend into a broad frieze, cornice, and parapet. The central window is flanked by recessed doors, all three of which have ogee-shaped arches that are flattened at the top. The Wellington Tavern is part of a group that includes No 1 and Nos 3 to 14 consecutively.
