Description

Number 63 is a mid-19th century terraced house located on Marine Parade in Brighton. The building is constructed of stucco and features a parapeted roof. It has four storeys above a basement. The entrance is round-arched and includes a decorative fanlight, positioned to the right of a full-height segmental bay. This entry is framed by engaged, fluted Tuscan columns and an entablature with a metope frieze. The basement, ground, and first floors exhibit banded rustication, while all windows are flat arched. The tripartite bay windows are topped with keyed lintels. A first-floor verandah features a concave metal roof supported by cast-iron brackets, railings, and stanchions, with a wooden valence at the eaves. The second and third-floor bay windows have a plain plinth band, sill bands, and keyed lintels, and there is a cornice at the top floor. Rails are present at the entry stairs. The interior has not been inspected.
