Description

Number 27 is a terraced house from the early 19th century, located on North Gardens in Brighton. It is constructed of grey brick set in header bond, with dressings of gauged red brick and a roof made of Welsh slate. The building has two storeys and features a three-window range with a double-fronted design. The entrance is round-arched and includes a fanlight with decorative glazing, topped with a later canopy supported by cast-iron brackets. There are shallow two-storey segmental bays on either side, featuring sashes of original design. The house has deep panelled eaves and side stacks, with a return to Upper Gloucester Road that is stuccoed.

In front of the house, there is a garden wall made of cobbles framed in stucco panels, which includes square corniced gate piers and a run of cast-iron railings mounted on the wall. The interior has not been inspected.
