Description

Number 15 is a terraced house located on Richmond Terrace in Brighton, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of stucco, with a roof that is obscured by a parapet. The building has three storeys over a basement and features a three-window range. The front of the house includes a full-height and almost full-width segmental bay. The ground floor is rusticated and has an enclosed porch with antae that have stepped capitals and a plain entablature. The porch features an overlight and a studded and panelled door of original design, although the upper panels are now glazed.

All the windows are flat-arched, with the first-floor windows having moulded architraves, palmettes on the frieze, cornices, blind boxes, and individual balconies with cast-iron railings. The second-floor windows also have architraves, with 4/4 sash windows on the first floor and 2/4 sash windows on the second floor, which may be of original design. The building has a cornice and blocking course, along with one flat-arched entrance and two flat-arched windows on the return in Southover Street. The interior has not been inspected. The property also features cast-iron railings with intermediate shafts, console brackets, and spearhead finials.
