Description

These are a group of terraced houses located on Borough Street, dating from around 1830. They are constructed with stucco, originally scored to resemble ashlar masonry, and have roofs of late 20th-century tiles on numbers 8 to 11, asbestos slate on number 12, and a turnerized roof on number 13. The houses are two storeys high and generally have a single window on each facade, although number 12 features a round "bull's-eye" window on the first floor.

A flat-arched main entrance has a decorative cornice supported by consoles, and an overlight with original design glazing on numbers 10, 11 and 13. Each house has a segmental bay window extending to both floors, with two sash windows on each floor either side of a broad central mullion. The sash windows retain their original 6/6 glazing pattern. There are deep boxed eaves, and two chimney stacks are incorporated into the party walls between numbers 8 and 9, and 9 and 10; the remaining original stacks have been removed. The interior of the properties has not been inspected.
