Description
Number 38 is an early 19th-century terraced house on Marine Parade, Brighton. The house is stucco-faced and has a parapet concealing the roof. It rises four storeys over a basement, with the elevation stepping down to two storeys on the left return. The main elevation features a single window range, while the left return has five. A full-height bay window extends along the main elevation, with a segmental shape from the first to the third floors. A balcony is situated on the first floor, supported by twisted cast-iron colonnettes and featuring a cast-iron railing. A flat-arched entry is recessed on the left return, framed by Tuscan pilasters and an entablature. Full-height segmental bays flank the entry, each with original sash windows on the ground and first floors. All windows are flat-arched, and there are stacks built to the party wall. The interior has not been inspected. Railings are present around the basement area.
