Description
This is an early to mid-19th century terraced house and shop, located in Brighton. The building is stucco-faced, with the roof hidden behind a parapet. It is three stories high, with a basement, and features a single window facing Victoria Street and three facing Victoria Road, with the westernmost window blank. A shop front is located on the corner, featuring early to mid-19th century curved double doors and shop-front glazing that is likely original or from the 19th century; there is a bracketed oriel window on Victoria Street. A two-story canted bay window is present on Victoria Street.
The ground floor of the Victoria Road elevation is decorated with banded rustication. A round-arched entrance with a partly altered archivolt, a fanlight, and a panelled door of original design are incorporated. The building has flat-arched windows with original sash windows, a storey band between the first and second floors, a cornice, and a parapet. A side stack is located on Victoria Street. The interior was not inspected. The building is notable due to the survival of the original shop front.
