Description

Numbers 45, 46, and 47 Egremont Place are a group of three terraced houses dating from circa 1825 in Brighton. Number 46 is built of brick in Flemish bond, while numbers 45 and 47 have painted brickwork. The bays of all three properties are rendered with stucco. The roofs are hidden behind a parapet.

The houses are three storeys high, with a basement, and each has two windows. They have a round-arched entrance with a plain architrave, although the fanlights above the entrances are blocked. The entrance to number 45 has undergone alterations. To the left of each entrance is a full-height segmental bay containing tripartite windows with flat arches. The bay at number 45 stops short of the parapet. To the right of each bay on the first and second floors are blocked, camber-arched windows with lintels made of gauged brick; the second-floor window of number 45 is unblocked. A cast-iron balcony is present on the first floor of the bay at number 45, and it is shaped in a segmental curve. The boundaries between the properties are marked by stacks.

The interiors have not been inspected. Cast-iron railings are present at the staircases of numbers 46 and 47.
