Description
Underwood Cottage is a house located on Chapel Lane in Binfield, dating from the late 18th century, with alterations and extensions made in the early 20th century. The building is constructed of painted brick in Flemish bond and features an old tile hipped roof, along with two chimneys that have offset heads and clay pots.
The cottage originally had a rectangular two-cell plan but now includes an extension on the right side. It stands two storeys tall and has 2-light casement windows with glazing bars and segmental arched heads. The entrance front faces southeast and is characterized by dentilled brick eaves. The facade is arranged in two bays, with an early gabled entrance porch on the right side and a single-storey lean-to extension at the right end. The interior has not been inspected.
