GV II

Piers, steps and walls forming part of the entrance forecourt to Moor Close (qv). 1911, by Oliver Hill. Red brick and York stone. Flight of 5 and 4 rectangular stone steps flanked at the lower level by 2 panelled brick piers with moulded stone bases and caps. To left brick retaining wall in English bond with weathered top, links left-hand pier to pergola court (qv). (Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest: Part 3 : Berkshire).
