Description
The Classical Rotunda, located in the grounds of Ascot Place approximately 590 meters northwest of the house, was built in the early 19th century by CC Ferard. It features a stone structure with a lead-covered domed roof and a circular plan supported by eight Corinthian columns. The rotunda is raised on a stylobate with three steps and includes a moulded fascia, a plain frieze, and a moulded cornice adorned with guttae. The soffit of the dome displays alternating oval and lozenged segments, culminating in an octagonal carved boss. This rotunda is part of a garden that is listed as Grade II* in the Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Interest in England.
