Description
Old Dairy Farmhouse, located at the east corner of Crouch Lane, is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates back to the early 18th century and was altered and extended in the 19th century. The building is constructed of painted brick and features an old tile hipped roof.
The farmhouse has a rectangular plan with a large extension on the north-west side, which is now a separate house known as Corner Cottage, though this is not included in the listing. The structure stands two storeys high and has three chimneys topped with clay pots.
On the entrance front, which faces north-west, the original design had three wide bays but now has two bays. The central entrance features a partly glazed door. There are 3-light casement windows with louvred shutters set under segmental brick arches. To the left, there is a small lean-to extension with a 2-light window.
The garden front, facing south-east, consists of two bays with 18th-century sash windows that have segmental brick arches on the first floor. Early 19th-century casement doors are present on the ground floor. A large weathered chimney stack projects from the wall on the left side. The interior has not been inspected.
