Description
Nos 5 to 9 on Malden Road are a row of cottages dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. They are two storeys high and feature weatherboarded cladding with an old tiled roof. The row consists of three window bays and three doorways, with sash windows that have glazing bars. The doorways for Nos 5 and 7 are coupled, and all doors have flat hoods above them. At the left end, there is an addition with a lower frontage, which has a red tiled roof that is hipped to the south. This addition includes a sash window with glazing bars above and a small canted bay with casement windows on the ground floor.
Nos 1 to 9 on Malden Road, along with the garden wall to the north of Nos 1 and 3, the Rectory, and the garden walls and laundry in the grounds of the Rectory, form a group with Nos 45 to 57 on The Broadway and with Nos 1 to 25 on Park Lane.
