Description
The Old Cottage is a late 15th-century building located on the west side of The Broadway in Cheam. It is two stories tall with a gabled roof and features exposed timber framing along with concrete panels. The front of the building overhangs the ground floor, which has a wide fixed light display window and a smaller window to the left. The first floor has a restored window with vertical oak bars and leaded lights behind it. The roof is covered with old tiles, and on the south side, the slope continues down over a later facsimile extension. The building has a brick plinth and was removed from an adjacent site at Cheam Cross Roads, repaired, and relocated here between 1920 and 1939.
