Description
Sutton Lodge is a mid-18th century building located on Brighton Road. It is two storeys high, constructed of brown brick, and features three windows with a band between the storeys. The building has a dentilled cornice and a capped parapet, topped with a slate roof that includes two flat-topped leaded dormers. The gable ends have plain chimney stacks. On the first floor, there are two sash windows and a central round window. The central doorway is framed by an architrave surround and has a cornice hood supported by moulded brackets, leading to a six-panelled door. Flanking the central section are late 18th to early 19th century wings that are only one storey high, reaching up to the cornice level. These wings are made of stock brick and each has two tall sash windows with glazing bars. The wings also feature a capped parapet and slate roofing.
