Description
Carnaby House is a mid to late 18th-century house located in Kimbolton. It is constructed of local brick and features a plain tiled roof with a dentil eaves cornice and end stacks. The building has two storeys, with two horizontal sliding sash windows with glazing bars on the first floor. The ground floor has two similar windows with segmental headed arches that flank a central doorway, which is framed by an early 19th-century doorcase. This doorcase includes reeded pilasters with boss enrichments and an entablature topped by a pediment with moulded dentils in the tympanum. The door itself is six-panelled. There is also a 19th-century wing adjoining to the north, made of local brick and with a plain tiled roof. This wing has two storeys and features two horizontal sliding sash windows on the first floor, a segmental headed arch to a similar window on the ground floor, and a blocked doorway on the north side.
