Description

Michaelmas House is a house dating from after 1798 and before 1804. It is built with a timber frame of pine, which has been plastered and incised to resemble stone. The roof is tiled, with a mansard form and end stacks. The symmetrical facade has three casement windows on the first floor and two similar windows and a central doorway on the ground floor. The doorway is accentuated by a moulded wooden architrave and a hood supported by brackets. Inside, notable features include an early 19th-century open-string staircase and two fireplace surrounds. The house is documented in the Kimbolton School Archives.
