Description

The garden walls in front of numbers 2 to 16 (even) and the rear garden wall to number 18 on Wilbury Avenue in Cheam date back to the 17th century. These walls are part of the Cheam Warren Wall and are constructed of red brick with battered coping and pilasters.

The wall features a short section between the south entrance to number 2 and the north entrance to number 4. The wall in front of number 4 includes two brick pilasters and has an entrance at the south end. The wall in front of number 6 has entrances at both the north and south ends. The wall in front of number 8 has an entrance at the north end, while the wall in front of number 10 includes a brick pilaster and an entrance at the north end. The walls in front of numbers 12, 14, and 16 have entrances at either end.

In the back garden of number 18, there are two separate sections of wall. One section is continuous with the south garden wall to Wychwood in Onslow Avenue, and the other was once part of this continuous structure but is now a free-standing wall located in the middle of the garden to number 18.
