Description

The garden wall in front of numbers 17 and 18 East Beach dates from around 1845 to 1860. It is constructed of red brick and cobblestone, topped with sandstone coping. The wall is approximately 1 metre high and features a brick plinth, piers, and a band that create long rectangular panels filled with cobblestones. The coping is made of pitched stone. This wall is continuous with the garden wall of numbers 15 and 16. Additionally, a partition wall between the gardens of numbers 16 and 17 is similar in design and is listed separately.
