Description
West Hall is a building likely dating from around 1700. It has two storeys and attics beneath a tall square hipped roof covered with old tiles. The main front is made of brick, which is currently covered with whitewash, and features three sash windows. At the centre, there is a wide Doric pillared doorcase with a cornice supported by small brackets, a semi-circular fanlight, and a glazed door. A band runs between the storeys, and there is a coved plaster eaves cornice that wraps around the house. At the top of the front face of the roof, there is a small central bell cupola with open sides and an ogival lead roof. The roof also has 19th-century tile cresting along the verges and hips, and dormers with 19th-century bargeboards. The garden front is plastered and has four sash windows, two of which are on the ground floor along with a door that is from the 19th century. An extension on the right side features a half-round three-light sash window on the ground floor, with a canted sash bay above supported on posts. There is a flat lead roof above this extension, which is brought forward in front of a low-pitched hipped slate roof. The interior has not been seen.
