Description

Faraday House and Cardinal House, along with the accompanying wall and gate piers to the street, are an early 18th-century house with later alterations from the late 18th century and beyond. The house is two storeys and has an attic. It has five windows across the facade, including a central projecting canted bay. This bay features subsidiary windows on its splays and a modern entrance at ground level. To the right of the bay is a large, first-floor segmental bay with a three-light window supported by four slender columns. The left section of the roof is tiled and features a timber cornice below the eaves. The canted bay has a Mansard roof with a console cornice, and the segmental bay has a parapet above a small cornice. A brick wall runs along the street, punctuated by gate piers topped with stone ball finials.
