Description

Faraday Cottage, King's Store Cottage, and the attached garage are located on the south side of Hampton Court Green. These buildings date back to the early 16th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries. Faraday Cottage features a façade from around 1900, with red brick on the ground floor and roughcast on the first floor, adorned with decorative timber work. It has a steeply pitched, plain-tiled roof. King's Store Cottage is weatherboarded and has a plain tiled hipped roof. The garage, which is one storey high, is situated to the left and has double timber doors that span its full width, topped by a steeply pitched plain-tiled roof.

Faraday Cottage is two storeys tall, plus dormers, while King's Store Cottage is slightly taller with two storeys. King's Store Cottage has a façade that reflects an 18th-century style but incorporates 16th-century timbers in its structure and roof. It features three windows across the front, square-headed windows, and two-light casements with mid-19th-century overlapping paned glazing. The entrance is centrally located with a square-headed door and a rectangular fanlight above, leading to a panelled door. There is a carriageway to the left with double timber doors.

Faraday Cottage has an irregular façade from around 1900, with segmental-headed windows on the ground floor and square-headed windows above, also featuring two-light casements and gabled dormers. The rear wall of Faraday Cottage showcases brickwork from the 16th century. The interior retains features from the 16th century, including a roof with windbraces, which is also visible in the garage roof.
