Description
The Mitre Hotel is a mid-18th century building constructed of plain brown brick with red dressings, featuring a parapet and a hipped roof covered with old tiles. It has three storeys and a basement, with a two-window and three-window bay arrangement on the front. A prominent wide splayed bay rises from the first floor and is supported by Tuscan columns on the ground floor, creating a porch that is slightly elevated by steps. To the left, towards the bridge, there is a three-storey, two-window wing at a lower level, also made of brown brick with red dressings, which includes an early 19th-century doorcase with an entablature supported by columns with fluted capitals.
