Description
West Lodge is a mid 18th century building constructed of red brick with a hipped slate roof. It stands two storeys high, with an attic and basement, and features a south facade that has five bays. The windows are sashes with glazing bars and are topped with gauged brick arches. There is a stone string course, a cill course, and moulded eaves. The central entrance is highlighted by a pedimented portico supported by Ionic columns. On the north side of the ridge, there are two chimney stacks, and pedimented dormers are present on both the east and west sides. The building has two-storey bays on the east and west, along with later wings on the north side that include a three-storey bay, which is semi-circular in plan, and a two-storey wing with a flat roof. Surrounding the property are red brick boundary walls to the north, east, and west, which feature piers and semi-circular copings.
