Description

The Grange is an early 19th-century house located on Cromer Road in Ayshham. It is constructed of grey brick, partly colourwashed, with a slate roof. The main facade consists of five bays and features sash windows with glazing bars, each with a flat rubbed arch. A central entrance has a double-leaf part-glazed door, sheltered by a portico with detached Doric columns, pilasters, and an entablature. A wood eaves cornice is detailed with brackets in pairs, and the parapeted gables include internal chimney stacks. To the west are red brick and pantile wings, while a red brick and pantiled stable block stands to the north, connected at first floor by a plastered and slated link. A grey brick and slate hipped one-story extension is located on the south gable, containing a semi-circular headed sash window. The front boundary is defined by a red brick wall with half-round copings, piers with rendered brick cappings, and iron gates and railings.
