Description

Kew Cottages, consisting of Nos 1 and 2, are a pair of two-storey cottages located in the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. No 1 dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century and is constructed of brick with a green slate roof and overhanging eaves. It is three bays wide. No 2, which is from the 18th century, is made of brown brick with red dressings and features a tiled roof with eaves cornice and Dutch gable ends. This cottage is five windows wide, has flush frame windows beneath overhanging eaves, and segmental windows on the ground floor. There is a central entrance and prominent chimney stacks on both cottages. They are listed for their group value.
