Description

This gazebo, located approximately 25 meters to the northeast of Number 3 The Terrace, dates from around 1767 and is built in the Mid Georgian style. Constructed of brick and clad in wood panelling, it features a gabled slate roof. The front has a pediment with a Greek-key frieze above a semi-circular arched entry, which has a fluted extrados supported by moulded imposts. The rear elevation is similar to the front, and the gazebo is flanked by lower one-storey wings. Inside, there is a fine wooden coffered ceiling in a neo-classical style, within a barrel-vaulted room that includes panelled doors leading to small flanking rooms.
