Description
The Richmond Hill Hotel, located at Mansfield Place, consists of three properties that were once separate buildings but have been combined to form the hotel.
No 146 is a late 18th-century house with four storeys and a basement, featuring three windows across its façade. It is constructed of brick and has a parapet with a slate roof. The entrance door is covered by a later heavy arched canopy, and there is a canopied balcony on the first floor. The windows are square-headed casements, except for those on the ground floor, which are sashed.
No 148 is also a late 18th-century house, comprising three storeys, an attic, and a basement, with three windows and three dormers. It has a slate mansard roof and a parapet, is built of brick, and features a canopied balcony on the first floor along with a central Tuscan Doric porch at the entrance. The windows are square-headed sashed, except for the first floor, which has casements that provide access to the balcony.
No 150 dates from the early 18th century and has three storeys, a basement, and an attic, with five windows and three dormers. It features a slate mansard roof and a parapet, constructed from brown brick with red dressings. The entrance has a central Corinthian doorcase with fluted pilasters, although this is now a window, and there is a pilastered first-floor window above it.
Additionally, a large extension to the rear of No 146, dating from the 1960s, is noted as not being of special interest.
