Description

This is a substantial detached house dating to circa 1900, designed by T.G. Jackson. It is built of brown brick with red brick dressings and corner pilasters, topped with a green Westmoreland slate roof which is hipped to the eaves. The design is in the Georgian Revival style.

The house is two storeys high with dormers, and features seven irregular bays arranged in pairs, with the third bay from the right containing the recessed entrance, which is framed by an arched rubbing brick surround. A broad canted bay window is located to the left of the entrance, featuring a leaded ogee topped tented roof and turned balusters at the corners. Ground-floor windows have segmental heads, while those on the first floor are square headed, all with sash windows and glazing bars. An egg and dart eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. There are two gabled dormers on the front, and a single broad gabled dormer on the return to the left. The rear elevation is also of architectural interest.
