Description

This is a pair of cottages located on Denmark Road in Merton, built in the mid to late 19th century. They are attributed to the architect S S Teulon. The cottages are constructed of brick with contrasting dressings and have tall Welsh slate roofs, featuring large, corniced brick stacks. They are two storeys high, with upper windows set in cross gables, some of which are half-hipped. The windows are casements, some altered and set beneath segmental arches. The cottages have boarded doors with decorative ironwork and pointed arches. Decorative tumbled-in brickwork is present on the gable ends. They are an integral part of the planned layout of buildings numbered 47-59 and 62-73.
