Description

This is a row of cottages located on Denmark Road in Merton, dating from the mid-to-late 19th century and attributed to the architect S S Teulon. The cottages are constructed of brick with contrasting dressings and have tall Welsh slate roofs with large, corniced brick stacks. Each cottage is two storeys high and one bay wide. The upper windows extend into crossgables, some of which are half-hipped. The windows are transomed casements, some of which have been altered, and are set beneath segmental brick arches. Pointed arches frame paired boarded doors with decorative ironwork. These cottages form an integral part of a planned layout, relating to numbers 47-63 and 72 and 73 nearby.
