Description

This is a row of cottages dating from the mid to late 19th century and attributed to S S Teulon. The cottages are constructed of brick with contrasting dressings, including decorative tumbling-in to the gables. They have tall Welsh slate roofs and tall corniced brick stacks. Each cottage is two storeys high, with a single wide bay, and the upper window rises into the cross gable. The end houses have larger gables. They feature two- and three-light transomed casements under segmental gauged brick arches, with pointed arches to the boarded doors, which have decorative ironwork. A first-floor band runs along the façade. The row forms an integral part of a planned layout alongside numbers 53-73.
