Description

This is a row of cottages built in the middle to late 19th century as part of a planned development known as Belvedere Square, and which connects with properties on Church Road. The cottages are constructed of polychrome brick with a tall Welsh slate roof, featuring crested ridge tiles and substantial brick stacks with cogged cornices and decorative bargeboards. Each cottage has a wide, two-storey gabled bay and a narrower, lower entrance bay that is paired with its neighbour. These entrance bays have a slate-hung, pointed-arched pent roof sheltering a recessed, boarded front door. First-floor windows are casements set beneath pointed relieving arches. The ground floor features canted bays with cogged cornices and hipped slate roofs. Low brick forecourt walls with corniced coping run along the front.
