Description

This is a row of cottages dating from the mid to late 19th century, forming part of the planned development of Belvedere Square and linked to properties on Church Road. The cottages are built of polychrome brick with a tall Welsh slate roof, which features crested ridge tiles and prominent brick stacks topped with cogged cornices and decorative bargeboards. Each cottage has a wide, two-story gabled bay and a narrower, lower entrance bay shared with its neighbor. These entrance bays have slate-hung, pointed-arch pent roofs sheltering boarded doors. First-floor windows are casements set within pointed relieving arches. The ground-floor features canted bays with cogged cornices and hipped slate roofs. Low brick forecourt walls with corniced coping complete the exterior.
