Description
This mid-19th century red brick house is located at 85 Ewell Road in Kingston-upon-Thames. It stands two storeys high with a three-storey tower set back to the right, which features a four-centred arched entrance. The central bay of the house is prominent, featuring a canted bay window on the ground floor. The left bay is set further back and includes a single-storey extension at the angle.
The ground floor windows are square-headed and have Gothick glazing bars on the casements. The first-floor windows consist of three-light diamond-paned casements with shouldered heads made of gauged brick. The tower is constructed from red brick with blue headers and has twin hexagonal-headed windows on the first floor, with a triple pointed window above, where the outer lights are blind.
On the left side of the house, there are three tall cylindrical chimneys adorned with spiral decoration in black header bricks. The roofs are tiled with deep eaves, featuring a shallow pyramid roof over the tower topped with a finial, and a gabled roof over the centre with decorated barge boards.
