Description

The following building shall be added:

CHURCH STREET, W4 (west side) TQ 2177 NE 1/246 Boch and Wright Memorials approximately 3 metres and 7 metres south of south porch of Church of St Nicholas II GV

Two chest tombs. Early and late C18. Limestone. Boch memorial to south: late C18. Moulded plinth and cornice; wide corner balusters; central fielded inscription panel. Commemorates George Boch, d. 1770. Wright memorial to north: early C18. Carved in Baroque style with pedimented centre and richly-carved details, including acanthus-leaf frieze, classical cornice with masks set between dentils and cherubs' heads. Memorial is surrounded by wrought-iron railings with urns. Commemorates Thomas Wright, d. 1734, bricklayer to Lord Burlington.
