Description

The Boch and Wright Memorials are two chest tombs located approximately 3 metres and 7 metres south of the south porch of the Church of St Nicholas on Church Street, W4. The memorials date from the early and late 18th century and are made of limestone.

The Boch memorial, situated to the south, is from the late 18th century and features a moulded plinth and cornice, wide corner balusters, and a central fielded inscription panel. It commemorates George Boch, who died in 1770.

The Wright memorial, located to the north, is from the early 18th century and is carved in a Baroque style. It has a pedimented centre and richly-carved details, including an acanthus-leaf frieze and a classical cornice adorned with masks set between dentils and cherubs' heads. This memorial is surrounded by wrought-iron railings with urns and commemorates Thomas Wright, who died in 1734 and was a bricklayer to Lord Burlington.
