10/36 Two monuments in churchyard close to south boundary wall, south of Church of St Nicholas

GV II

Two chest tombs, early C18 and early C19, ashlar, about 7m apart. From west: a) Unidentified early C18 memorial with 2 shield plaques each side, carved scroll above and cherub heads below. Centre and angle attached fluted columns, and similar columns flanking end plaques. West end cartouche with winged cherub head over, east end skull, bones and hour-glass. b) Breach memorial, early C19 with 2 sunk panels each side and bead-moulded centre and angle piers. Moulded base and capstone. South side inscription to Sarah Breach, died 1784 and Moses Breach died 1805.
