Description

Two chest tombs are located in the churchyard close to the south boundary wall, south of the Church of St Nicholas. The tombs date from the early 18th century and early 19th century and are made of ashlar, positioned about 7 meters apart.

The first tomb, an unidentified early 18th-century memorial, features two shield plaques on each side, a carved scroll above, and cherub heads below. It has fluted columns at the center and angles, with similar columns flanking the end plaques. The west end is adorned with a cartouche featuring a winged cherub head, while the east end displays a skull, bones, and an hourglass.

The second tomb is a breach memorial from the early 19th century, characterized by two sunk panels on each side and bead-moulded center and angle piers. It has a moulded base and capstone, with an inscription on the south side commemorating Sarah Breach, who died in 1784, and Moses Breach, who died in 1805.
