Description

This is an early 18th-century red brick building, originally designed as a post office. It is two storeys and an attic, with four windows in flat-arched surrounds, lacking glazing bars. A pedimented brown brick porch shelters a four-panelled door with an ornamental iron fanlight. A stone band runs between the two storeys, and a wooden eaves cornice sits below the old red tile roof, which features two dormers. A modern addition is present on the left side. A rendered garden wall is also part of the property. The building is noted as part of a group with nearby structures including Ferry House, Brampton House, Burlington Corner (numbers 1 and 2, formerly Old Burlington), and Vine House; the railings and gate to Vine House are also included in the group.
