Description

Ferry House, also known as Brampton House, is an 18th-century building located on Church Street in W4. It is constructed of yellow brick and stands three storeys tall. The ground and first floors feature seven double-hung sash windows, while the second floor has casement windows. The windows have flat arches, cills, and shutters. There are two stone steps leading up to a porch that is supported by Roman Doric columns and pilasters on plinths. The porch has a frieze adorned with paterae and a central panel, topped with a cornice. The entrance includes a six-panel door, and the ground floor has a central segmental sinking. A stone band continues along the first floor cills, which also features a central Venetian window. The building has a moulded cornice and a rendered parapet.

To the right, there is a two-storey wing that includes a first-floor weatherboard bay and a hipped pantile roof, along with a rendered plinth. A wrought iron lamp holder is positioned over the yard entrance. Ferry House is part of a group that includes the Post Office, No 7, Wistaria, the garden wall to Wistaria, Burlington Corner, Nos 1 and 2 (Old Burlington), Vine House, and the railings and gate to Vine House.
