Description

BEAVERS LANE 1. 4419 Former Stable ranges along the east and west side of former parade ground to Hounslow Calvalry Barracks TQ 1175NE & 1275NW 41/360

2. Circa 1793 by James Johnson; former stable ranges with troopers' dormitories over. Verandah added 1861 by Lothian Nicholson, RE: 2 storey, long ranges in multicoloured stock brick. Cast iron internal columns; some still with tack-hooks and some hay-baskets survive on walls. Varied fenestration, but mostly cambered-arched double-hung barred sash windows. Hipped 5 slated roofs, extended over 1st floor of verandahs. A number of hitching rings remain on the outer walls. Areas of Staffordshire Blue paviors remain along the east and west sides with urine tunnels. Ground floor altered and interior somewhat changed. Vaulted passageway through middle of each range. Blocked eaves.
