Description

This building, located at 5-9 Chiswick High Road, dates from around 1830 to 1840. It is constructed of brown brick with a stucco rusticated ground floor and a cornice and parapet. The building is three storeys high with a basement. Number 5 and 9 each have two windows on the first floor, featuring stone hoods supported by brackets. A notable feature is the first-floor iron balcony, continuous across the building, with an anthemion motif and pilasters, entablature, and pediment. The windows have glazing bars. The front door incorporates modern glass panels, and an arched fan with keystones. Number 9 has wrought iron railings to the basement, and the doors have arched fans.
