Description

This is a row of houses begun in 1827, part of the St Peter’s Estate developed by George Scott from about 1811. The houses are built of stock brick, with channelled stucco to the ground floor, and have slate mansard roofs on numbers 81, 85, and 87. Each house is three storeys high and two windows wide. They have arched doorways and ground floor windows set within arched reveals. The doors are panelled, with decorative fanlights above the entrances at numbers 79, 83, and 85. The windows are square-headed and sash windows, retaining glazing bars, except for the upper floors of number 79, which have metal replacements. There is a rendered parapet. Garden railings are included for numbers 85 and 87.
