Description

A bronze statue dated 1879 and sculpted by William Blake Richmond stands in the centre of the gardens. The statue depicts a running youth, presented as nude and idealised. It is mounted on a Portland stone pedestal, which bears an inscription indicating the statue was erected in its current position in 1926.
