Description

The Church of St Peter, built in 1827 by Edward Lapidge, is a notable example of religious architecture. It is constructed of yellow brick with stone dressings and features a symmetrical west front. The entrance is highlighted by a tetrastyle portico with enlarged Ionic columns and a stone pediment. Above this, there is a pilastered octagonal tower topped with a cupola and a clock. Inside, the church has a gallery supported by Doric columns on three sides. The interior also includes a Neo-Romanesque font, pulpit, and choir furniture, which are likely from the mid-19th century.
