Description

New Cottages, located on the south side of High Road in Eastcote, were built in 1879, as indicated on the rainwater head. These picturesque "Elizabethan" cottages consist of a pair of two-storey buildings, each featuring one window and set back entrance extensions. The gable ends, which face the road, oversail, and the first floor is jettied. The upper part of the cottages showcases half-timbering with plaster filling that has incised designs. Each cottage includes oriel windows with small panes, while the brick ground floor features canted bay windows and casements also with small panes. Timber porches adorn the entrances, complete with turned balusters and decorative plaster work in the gable ends. The cottages are noted for their prominent position at the road junction.
