Description

The Cottage is a 16th-century cottage located on the north side of Jackets Lane in Northwood. It is two storeys high and features two windows, with a returned gable end on the left. The building is timber framed but has a later brick exterior. A large chimney made of old bricks projects from the right end of the cottage. The collar beam and purlin ends are visible in the gable at the right end, and the roof is covered with old tiles. The left section under the gable was likely rebuilt in the early 19th century and includes a dentil cornice. The cottage has small paned casement windows, and the interior showcases much exposed timber.
